OUR TEAM

Alondra Flores
Senior Health Educator
She/They/Ella/Elle
Alondra was born and raised in the Bay Area, and she currently lives in San Francisco. They are a first generation Masterโ€™s student and HYHCโ€™s Senior Health Educator. Alondraโ€™s favorite part about health education is getting to teach youth about bodily autonomy, especially with respect to their reproductive and sexual health. She is especially passionate about broadening abortion access for all! In her free time, Alondra enjoys hiking and exploring new places. They also love cooking, weightlifting, and trying out new latte recipes.

Community Health Educator
She/They
What's the most inspiring part of your job? The most inspiring part of my job is getting to work alongside people who are uncompromisingly practicing community advocacy within and outside of work every day. It's an honor and privilege to directly engage with youth and see them thrive. What are you happiest doing when youโ€™re not working? When I'm not working, I'm happiest dancing, making art, and spending quality time with my chosen family. I'm also deeply passionate about mobilizing for grassroots queer trans mutual aid work. If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve... If I could invent a holiday, it would involve dancing at a goth rave. Bonus points for doing each other's eyeliner and wearing massive KISS heels.

Taylor Rudman
Program Manager, Create 2 Activate (They/Them)
Now residing in Oakland, Taylor moved to the Bay to study Cognitive Science and Film at UC Berkeley, where they also facilitated consent education for the Berkeley Student Cooperative. Having grown up in spaces that lacked accessible queer health education, they care about aiding LGBTQ+ youth in finding those safe spaces and people today. When they arenโ€™t working, they enjoy crafting in the park, blasting breakbeat music, laughing through scary movies, and exploring gender performance with personal style.

๐ŸŒŸ Recently, our justice team had the incredible opportunity to gather with The California Wellness Foundation and our fellow grantee partners for a day dedicated to rest, reflection, and reconnection. ๐ŸŒผโœจ

In a field that often demands so much from us, this event was a much-needed reminder that our well-being is essential to our impact. We enjoyed yoga, sound baths, healing practices, chair massages, live music, and delicious, nourishing food. But most importantly, we connected with others who understand the challenges and joys of this work. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’–

Cal Wellness reminded us: "You give so much to your work and your communities. You deserve moments of care, joy, and restoration, too."

We left feeling centered and supported, with a renewed understanding that taking care of ourselves is key to continuing the important work we do for our communities. We are grateful for partners like Cal Wellness, who champion the idea that rest is resistance and care is collective. ๐ŸŒฑโค๏ธ
