Huckleberry’s Leadership Circle

Huckleberry Executive Director Douglas Styles with Leadership Circle Members Dan Carroll and Stasia Obremskey, SF Mayor London Breed, and Ravi Kapur of Liho Liho Yacht Club.

In 2015, Huckleberry Youth Programs launched the Leadership Circle, a major fundraising initiative designed to help us achieve our long-term strategic goals. Members of the Leadership Circle show their commitment to the mission and work of Huckleberry by donating $5,000 or more (above and beyond participation in fundraising events). The Leadership Circle is now in its fourth year, and plans to expand the initiative are currently underway.

Members of Huckleberry’s Leadership Circle receive the following benefits:

  • An annual meeting with Huckleberry’s Executive Director;
  • Special recognition in agency publications;
  • An invitation to our biennial Leadership Circle VIP reception;
  • Receipt of our annual Leadership Circle Digest with information on high-level strategic planning and new agency initiatives;
  • The priceless knowledge that your support is assisting youth and families on a path to a successful future.

Huckleberry Youth Programs

Every Tuesday afternoon in San Rafael’s Montecito Plaza, youth from throughout Marin County access Huckleberry’s Teen Tuesday Clinic, a unique model that integrates sexual healthcare with comprehensive mental and behavioral health screening and intervention. Since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, youth have the option to schedule Teen Tuesday Clinic appointments in advance, to increase safety for both clients and staff.

The most commonly requested services at Teen Tuesday Clinic are: STI testing, gynecological exams, pregnancy testing, options counseling, and family planning/birth control.

In addition to accessing medical services provided by our medical partner, Marin Community Clinics, youth participate in social emotional assessments and are linked directly to support for issues such as substance use, depression, relationship abuse, sexualized violence, or tangible needs such as housing, with referrals being made to our San Francisco crisis shelter, Huckleberry House.
