View Our Panel: Adolescent Mental Health Trends Over the Last Three Decades

by

Huckleberry’s adolescent health services began in the basement of Huckleberry House, Huckleberry’s emergency youth shelter, and have since expanded. How have youth mental health needs changed over the last three decades and how are youth and families coping as we enter year three of the COVID pandemic?

Our panel of therapists discuss trends in adolescent health over the last thirty years including depression and anxiety, healthy teen decision-making, and academic stress as youth and families try to find balance and wellbeing during the COVID era.

Moderated by Jenny Debevec, MS, PPS, host of the Smells like Teen Parent podcast

Panelists:

* Stephanie Guzman Alvarez, MA, PPS, APCC, Huckleberry’s Mental Health Manager in Marin County

* Kisai Henriquez, MSW, ACSW, Program Manager, Huckleberry’s Project READY

* Douglas Styles, PsyD , Huckleberry’s Executive Director

Our team walked and cheered our way through Golden Gate Park for the SF AIDS Walk 2026 🌟

Every step was for our community: for the people who show up for each other, and for the health services that keep SF youth safer and stronger. 💜

The walk may be over, but you can still support our team's fundraising! Every dollar goes directly toward Huckleberry, providing health services for the young people who need them most.
