Sophia, HWA-SF Cohort 2, MSW
“HWA provides tender loving care. They really believe in you and motivate you. A lot of kids don’t have parents who can help them, especially first-generation college students. HWA embedded into my heart that I could go to college.”
Sophia received a Bachelor’s Degree from UC Berkeley and a Master’s in Social Work from California State University East Bay. After receiving her MSW, she interned at Huckleberry’s Cole Street Youth Clinic under the supervision of Clinical Director Margo Levi. Sophia is currently a school social worker at Cleveland Elementary School working with immigrant Latino students, supporting them through socio-emotional learning and connecting them to resources.
