WHY WE WALK:Β
Huckleberry Youth Programs is walking to support the Huckleberry Youth Health Centers in San Francisco and Marin counties.
In partnership with the SF Dept. of Public Health and Marin Community Clinics, we provide comprehensive, age-appropriate, linguistically and culturally-sensitive healthcare to youth and young adults.
Huckleberry health centers offer youth:Β
1 – Primary health services
2 – Reproductive and sexual health services including gynecological exams, rapid HIV and STI testing & treatment, pregnancy testing, and birth control
3 – Huckleberry is the only youth clinic in SF providing PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) for youth under 18.Β PrEP is a daily pill that HIV-negative individuals can take to lower their risk of becoming infected. When taken consistently, PrEP has been shown to reduce the risk of HIV infection by up to 92%
4 – Our health ed team conducts an HIV Prevention workshop known as HYPE (HIV Youth Prevention Education) in public schools across SF
