Despite busy schedules and the daily demands of supporting our community, Huckleberry staff carved out time for something essential: each other. Our annual staff picnic brought together team members from across programs for an afternoon of games, delicious food, laughter, and the kind of connection that fuels our work.
This year’s gathering felt especially meaningful. In a challenging climate where uncertainty can feel like the norm, we reaffirmed that pausing isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity. Joy isn’t separate from our work; it sustains it. When we create space to be in community with one another — to celebrate the humans behind the work — we strengthen our collective courage to continue showing up with full hearts for the young people and families we serve.
Here’s to more moments of play, rest, and togetherness as we move forward, because taking care of each other is how we take care of our community.
