Our Theory of Change is based on a human-centered approach that brought together community partners, funders, staff, board members, and, most importantly, young people for strategic discussions.

Our San Francisco gathering took place in a beautiful space generously provided by Futures Without Violence. The panel included Chris Ballard (Executive Director, Coleman Advocates), Tionne (HYP program participant), and Yisroel Quint (Program Officer, Pacific Foundation Services, LLC).

In Marin, we partnered with the Marin Community Foundation, including their Senior Program Director, Shirin Vakharia, as well as Yazuara (HYP program participant), and Judy Schwerin (Wellness Coordinator, San Rafael High School).

The panels focused on deepening our impact while navigating current social and political realities. Our commitment to community-led solutions ensures that young people’s voices are central to discussions about organizational strategy, partnership building, and collective action for social justice.

🌟 In the midst of our busy schedules and the daily demands of supporting our community, the Huckleberry staff made time for something essential: each other! Our annual staff picnic brought together team members from all programs for an afternoon filled with games, delicious food, laughter, and connection 💖

This year felt especially meaningful. In these uncertain times, we’re reaffirming that pausing isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity. Joy isn’t separate from our work; it fuels it. By creating space to celebrate each other, we strengthen our resolve to continue showing up for the young people and families we serve with full hearts❤️

Here’s to more moments of play, rest, and togetherness as we move forward. Taking care of each other is how we take care of our community! 🌼✨ #CommunityHealth #HealthEquity #HealthAccess #HuckleberryYouthPrograms
