Saul – HWA-Marin, Currently studying at UC Merced, graduating in 2019
While a student at San Rafael High School, Saul felt, “Huckleberry was a safe place to go. They helped me with personal issues. Young people could get birth control and also deal with a variety of wellness issues.” Saul received help with his college applications from HWA, as well as the encouragement he needed to apply to a variety of colleges. He attended College of Marin for three years and with the help of HWA-Marin, successfully transferred to UC Merced where he is scheduled to graduate in 2019, with a degree in psychology. His goal is to work with a nonprofit as a college counselor before applying to graduate school because, “I have a lot to offer as a transfer student. I’ve come back to Huckleberry and talked to seniors about community college and college in general. I can really help somebody else.”
