Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)What is Chlamydia? Chlamydia is an infection of the male or female sex organs and is sexually transmitted. Its highest prevalence is among young adults and adolescents. Signs women may have include: a dull pain in the pelvic area, bleeding between periods or after sex, a thick, yellow or bloody discharge from the vagina, pain with urination. Signs men may have include: burning feeling with urination, watery fluid, milky fluid or pus coming from the penis. Some people have no symptoms at all. You may or may not have pain or other symptoms, but the infection does not disappear with out treatment and may have long lasting effects. If you are a woman, chlamydia can: cause infections like Pelvic Inflammatory Disease; cause scar tissue in the uterus or fallopian tubes, causing pain, ectopic pregnancies or sterility. If you suspect you have this infection, get tested and treated immediately and tell your partner to get tested as well.
