San Francisco ServicesHuckleberry House offers continuous 24-hour crisis services and emergency shelter to youth. Huckleberry House is the oldest program for runaway and homeless youth in the country. Program goals are to alleviate problems of runaway and homeless youth by providing 24-hour crisis intervention and resolution services, reuniting the youth with their families, empower youth to identify healthy lifestyle alternatives and develop positive decision-making.
Community Assessment and Referral Center (CARC) provides a single point of entry for crisis intervention, assessment, service integration and referral of arrested youth. CARC's goals are to help youth avoid further involvement in the juvenile justice system and to stay out of jail, and provide youth with support and guidance to assist them in making healthy choices.
Counseling Services provides a wide range of mental health services, including: individual, family, parent, and group therapy, family mediation, and crisis counseling. Marin Services Located in San Anselmo, Nine Grove Lane (9GL) is a confidential counseling and housing program for teenagers, ages 12-17, and their familes. The goal is to help teens parents, or guardians improve their lives and reduce conflict in the home. The program serves as the county shelter for abused and neglected adolescents. Teenages are often housed for 1 to 7 days before returning home or to an alternative safe environment. Housing, along with individual and family counseling, allows time and space for tempers to cool and problem solving to begin. 9GL is the only 24-hour intake and assessment center where police and juvenile probation officers can access services for runaway and homeless Marin Youth.
Huckleberry Teen Health Program (HTHP), a comprehensive health promotion and youth development program serving youth ages 12-21, provides outreach; health education workshops offered in schools and community; counseling, support groups, and case management services; peer health educator trainings and delivery of on-site services in a teen friendly environment. HTHP provides Teen Tuesday Health drop-in clinic every Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-4:30 PM.
