Nine Grove Lane, a large, two-story, tree-lined home is located in San Anselmo, California. The shelter offers round-the-clock crisis services similar to those provided at Huckleberry House. In addition to crisis services and the Family Preservation Counseling Unit, which is the centerpiece of Nine Grove Lane's services, the program serves as the county shelter for abused and neglected adolescents and is the only 24-hour intake and assessment center where police and juvenile probation officers can access services for runaway and homeless Marin between the ages of 12 and 18.

Since 1984, Nine Grove Lane as operated as the county appointed provider of services to status offenders. Any youth who is picked up by the police for running away, being beyond parental control or violating curfew is transported to the shelter for services.
