Joanell Serra, MFT, has worked with youth and families in San Francisco for the last 23 years. Starting as case manager to the homeless in the tenderloin (Conard House), Joanell then worked as a therapist and non-profit manager for Catholic Charities, UCSF, and Huckleberry. Joanell rejoins Huckleberry as the Senior Director of Wellness Academies, after working with adolescents in private practice and consulting to non-profits for the last 12 years.  She brings years of development and clinical experience to the agency. Joanell received her Bachelors from Rutgers University, her Masters in Psychology from New College of California, and is a licensed therapist. In her free time she enjoys traveling with her husband and children, hiking with her dogs and writing fiction.
