Bruce Rice, Fiscal Director

Huckleberry Youth Programs

Bruce has been Huckleberry’s Fiscal Director since 1988.  Prior to HYP, Bruce was Business Manager, Ma Revolution’s Natural Foods for 4 years, self-employed bookkeeper for 11 years (in conjunction with HYP), and Business Manager, Institute for Social and Economic Studies for 7 years.  He attended Harvard College in 1967 (BA), UC Berkeley, 1968 (MA); UC Berkeley, 1971 Doctoral orals (medieval history); UC Berkeley, 1975 Doctoral orals (US history). Bruce’s hobbies include playing flute (for 5 years) and poker (for 30 years).  Volunteer activities consist of the Steering Committee of the Albany Music Fund and member of the AUSD Budget Advisory Committee.  When not working, Bruce enjoys taking his kids to his favorite spots – southern New England coast and islands, Death Valley, and Maui (Hana-side).
